Zelenskyy cancels visit to Spain due to difficult situation in Ukraine

Kyiv, May 15 (UNI) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has cancelled his visit to Spain on May 17 due to the difficult situation in Ukraine, Spanish news agency EFE reported on Wednesday, citing diplomatic sources.
On Tuesday, Spanish broadcaster TVE, citing sources in the royal family, reported that Zelenskyy would visit Spain this Friday to sign a security agreement between Kiev and Madrid with the country's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
Earlier this month, El Pais newspaper reported that the security agreement should have obliged Madrid to provide long-term military assistance to Kiev, to cooperate in the exercises of the two countries' armed forces, to develop the Ukrainian defence industry, and to exchange information in the fields of intelligence and cybersecurity.
