RR falter in batting against PBKS at Barsapara

Guwahati, May 15 (UNI) Rajasthan Royals faced yet another disappointing batting performance in their clash against Punjab Kings at Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. Despite winning the toss and opting to bat first, they struggled to capitalize on the opportunity, posting a modest total.
RR's innings got off to a shaky start as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal departed early, scoring just 4 runs in the first over. This setback set the tone for a challenging batting display. Although Sanju Samson and Kohler-Cadmore attempted to stabilize the innings with a brief partnership, they failed to boost the run rate significantly.
After the top-order dismissals, Riyan Parag and Ravichandran Ashwin provided some resistance, with Parag scoring an impressive 48 runs off 34 balls, including six boundaries. However, Ashwin's departure triggered another collapse for RR, losing wickets rapidly.
Despite Parag's efforts, RR could only manage to cross the 140-run mark, falling short of expectations. On the bowling front, Sam Curan, Harshal Patel, and Rahul Chahar starred for Punjab Kings, each claiming two wickets, which made the task easier for their batsmen.
With the target set, all eyes are now on Punjab Kings as they prepare for their run chase. As the match progresses, the focus will be on whether they can successfully chase down the total set by RR. UNI BDN AKS
