Young Indian archers bag 9 medals in Archery Asia

Singapore, June 20 (UNI) A youthful Indian contingent capped off a memorable campaign at the Archery Asia Cup 2025 (Stage 2) here on Friday with a rich haul of nine medals, including two gold, six silver and a bronze, underlining the depth of emerging talent in the sport.
In a standout performance, the Indian women’s compound team of Tejal Salve, Shanmukhi Naga Sai Budde and Tanishka Nilkumar Thokal set a new Under-21 world record by tallying 2101 points in the qualification round, surpassing their own previous mark of 2076 set in 2023. The trio went on to win silver, narrowly missing out on gold after a 232-232 tie led to a 29-26 shootoff loss to Malaysia.
India’s Kushal Dalal, continuing his impressive run from the Bangkok leg, clinched gold in the individual men’s compound final, defeating Australia’s Joshua Mahon 149-143. Sachin Chechi added a bronze in the same event, edging out Bangladesh’s Himu Bachhar 148-146.
