Telangana CM highlights Youth Cong legacy, criticises BRS leadership

Hyderabad, Feb 16 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday emphasised the significant role of the Youth Congress in shaping top political leaders in the Telugu states, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).
Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad during the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected Telangana Youth Congress President Jakkidi Shivacharan, Revanth Reddy recalled that leaders like Naidu and KCR had their political beginnings in the Youth Congress under Hanumantha Rao’s leadership. He also mentioned Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka as examples of leaders who rose from the organisation.
Revanth Reddy stressed that the Youth Congress is the foundation for political leadership and urged young leaders to continue fighting for public issues, irrespective of whether they hold positions.

AP Guv calls upon people to observe ‘Earth Hour’ on March 22

Vijayawada, Mar 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice S Abdul Nazeer on Thursday called upon the people of state to observe 'Earth Hour' on Saturday, by switching off all non-essential lights from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm as part of the WWF’s (World Wide Fund for Nature) Earth Hour global movement, originated in 2007.

The Governor said that the WWF’s Earth Hour campaign unites people around the world through the voluntary action of switching off non-essential lights for one hour, to help bring conservation and sustainable practices into focus, creating a better world for future generations.
