Moscow, Dec 8 (UNI) Former Syrian President Bashar Assad and his family have arrived in Moscow, where they have been granted asylum out of humanitarian concerns, a source in the Kremlin confirmed to Sputnik on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, Russia's Vesti Nedely newspaper reported, citing sources, that Assad, who resigned from his position after the government in Syria collapsed, had arrived in Moscow with his family.
The former Syrian president and his family members have been granted asylum in Russia out of humanitarian concerns, the source in the Kremlin said.
