Mumbai, Mar 19 (UNI) The equity market remained firm for the third consecutive session on Wednesday, with BSE Sensex advancing 147.79 pts to close at 75,449.05 on positive global cues.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 73.30 pts at 22,907.60.

With massive gains over 1100 pts on Tuesday, the Sensex opened higher at 75,473.17, up 172 pts. During the day it was rallied 267 pts at 75,568.38, days high before closing at 75,449.05, up 147.79 pts from its previous close.

Meanwhile, it was fell 100 pts at 75,201.48, days low.

The Nifty registered days high at 22,940.70 and low at 22,807.95 pts.

The market maintained its rally intact on the strength of Realty by 2.75 pc followed by Power by 2.30 pc, Capital Goods by 2.24 pc and BSE services by 2.48 pc.

The Mid cap rose by 2.28 and small cap by 2.17 pc.

In 30 scrips, 17 advanced while 13 declined.

The gainers were Tata Steel by 2.49 pc to Rs 158.50, Zomato by 2.45 pc to Rs 223.70, Powergrid by 2.22 pc to Rs 276.80 and Ultracemco by 2.01 pc to Rs 10,914.75.

The losers were Tech Mahindra by 2.28 pc to Rs 1398.45, ITC by 1.51 pc to Rs 403.20, TCS by 1.34 pc to Rs 3505 and Infosys by 1.29 pc to Rs 1588.10.

Asian Market was up today as Hang Seng rose by 0.12 pc, Kospi by 0.62 pc and Jakarta Composite by 1.40 pc.
