Kolkata, Feb 4 (UNI) There has been a remarkable increase in Budget Grants for Railways in West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha in 2025-26.
Addressing a press conference through video conferencing from New Delhi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Monday that there has been a big allocation in the Union Budget (2025-26) pertaining to Railways.
In 2025-26 budget there has been a record allocation of Rs.13,955 crores for West Bengal against the average allocation of Rs.4,380 crores during the period from 2009 to 2014. The Budget allocation for 2025-26 is 3 times (approx.) more than the average Budget allocation of 2009-14.
In the current budget, the total outlay for Railways modernization and expansion in Jharkhand is Rs. 7,306 crores against the average outlay of Rs.457 crores from 2009 to 2014.
The Budget allocation for 2025-26 is 16 times (approx.) more than the average Budget allocation of 2009-14. For Odisha there has been a total allocation of Rs.10,599 crores for 2025-26 against the average outlay of Rs.838 crores from 2009 to 2014, Vaishnaw said.
The Budget allocation for 2025-26 is 12.5 times (approx.) more than the average Budget allocation of 2009-14, he added .
