Jaipur, Nov 13 (UNI) Nearly 25 percent of voters cast their votes in the by-elections to the seven assembly constituencies of Jhunjhunu, Ramgarh, Dausa, Deoli-Uniara, Chaurasi, Khinvsar, and Salumbar in Rajasthan till 11 a.m. here on Wednesday.
Polling began peacefully at 7 a.m. amid tight security and was initially slow amid mild cold, but later, 10.51 percent of voters cast their votes in the first two hours at polling stations and reached 24.83 percent in four hours of voting.
The highest voter turnout of 28.97 percent was recorded in Ramgarh assembly constituency, followed by 26.67 percent in Khinvsar, 26.43 percent in Dausa, 26.42 percent in Chaurasi, 25.26 percent in Salumbar, 23.12 percent in Jhunjhunu, and 22.67 percent in Deoli-Uniara assembly constituency.
Polling is going on peacefully, and no untoward reports have been received from anywhere.
A large number of women and differently abled voters are also reaching out to exercise their franchise. People are also taking selfies after voting.
