Punjab: VB arrests deed writer demanding Rs 5.50 Lakh bribe

Chandigarh, Mar 19 (UNI) The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Wednesday arrested Anupam Sharma, a deed writer at Fatehgarh Sahib for demanding a bribe of Rs 5.50 Lakh on behalf of another official.
An official spokesperson of the VB revealed that the arrest was made based on an online complaint filed by a resident of Bassi Pathana, in Fatehgarh Sahib district on the Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Action Line.
The complainant alleged that the accused had demanded the bribe on behalf of Sub-Registrar of Tehsil Bassi Pathana in connection with the execution of registration of properties. The complainant has recorded the conversation among him, the deed writer and the Sub-Registrar.
