O2 Power wins 800 MWh Battery Storage project in Rajasthan

New Delhi, Jan 13 (UNI) Renewable energy platform O2 Power, committed to driving the transition to clean energy through innovative solar and wind power solutions, on Monday announced that it has secured a renewable energy project of 800 MWh Battery Storage System (BESS) under competitive bidding conducted by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI).
The project comprises installed capacities of 800 MWH Battery Energy Storage System, with a strategic mix of solar and components to ensure non solar peak hour power supply. Located near an operational CTUIL substation in Rajasthan, the project leverages abundant solar and land resources while utilizing existing evacuation infrastructure to minimize delays.
The project is set to be commissioned within 24 months of PPA signing aligning with the government’s ambitious renewable energy goals, the company said in a release.
O2 Power is a renewable energy platform in India established in 2020 by Singapore-based investment company Temasek and Stockholm-based investment firm EQT Infrastructure. The company focuses on developing, constructing, and operating renewable energy projects, including solar and wind power. It aims to contribute to India's ambitious renewable energy targets by generating clean, sustainable, and affordable energy for various sectors, including commercial, industrial, and utility-scale consumers.
