Modi targets opposition

Modi targets opposition

Nashik, May 15 (UNI) Prime Minister and BJP's star campaigner, Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a blistering attack on opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra, comprising the Congress party, Shiv Sena-UBT and NCP-SP and claimed that BJP-NDA are poised for a significant victory as indicated by a prominent leader within MVA.
Addressing an election rally in Dindori town of the district in North Maharashtra, he talked about evolving political landscape in the country by observing that “The NDA alliance is poised for a significant victory, as indicated by a prominent leader within the alliance. Recognising that the Congress party won't secure enough seats to claim the Leader of the Opposition post, he has urged other alliance partners to close shop and merge with the Congress."
Mocking at Shiv Sena-UBT and NCP-SP, he said that it seems inevitable that the so-called Shiv Sena and the party claiming to be nationalist will eventually merge with the Congress and reminisced that Shiv Sena founder late Bal Thackeray's words appear to be prophetic.
"The day I sense that Shiv Sena has transformed into Congress, I will dissolve Shiv Sena. Everything that is unfolding now is in accordance with Balasaheb's wishes," said Modi while quoting Bal Thackeray.
Continuing his attack, the Prime Minister remarked that “The fake Shiv Sena (referring to UBT) has shattered every dream of Bal Thackeray. His vision included building a grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and abolishing Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. While these dreams have been fulfilled, the fake Shiv Sena is showing the most disgust. Just like Congress, they rejected invitation for the temple's consecration.
"While Congress members are spewing hate about the Ram Mandir, the fake Shiv Sena remains silent. Their sinful partnership has been exposed to entire Maharashtra,” he noted.
Talking about Shiv Sena's alleged betrayal, he said that the fake Shiv Sena is now supporting the Congress despite the fact that the latter consistently abused Veer Savarkar.
This betrayal has left self-respecting and patriotic people of Maharashtra furious, he said and claimed that the fake Shiv Sena seems unaffected by this outrage.
"Should not this fake Shiv Sena, which has surrendered to Congress, be punished," he asked the crowd.
Taking a jibe at the Congress, Modi said, "Today, I am going to reveal this to all 140 crore countrymen for first time. It is a serious topic that needs to be addressed. Congress believes that 15 per cent of the government's budget should be exclusively allocated to minorities, essentially budget allocation based on religion. Many years ago, Congress approved this idea of budget allocation based on religion. Just imagine how destructive this idea is.”
Highlighting the Congress’ divisive agenda, he remarked that “For Congress, there is only one minority: its favoured vote bank."
"I recall vividly, during my tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, when Congress proposed spending 15 per cent of the budget exclusively on Muslims. I vehemently opposed it, and thanks to BJP's strong opposition, Congress failed in its attempt. Now, they are determined to revive this old agenda," he claimed.
Mentioning that Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar was against religion based reservation, he further claimed that the Congress is adamant about taking away reservation from SCs/STs/OBCs and poor to give it to Muslims.
"They are even considering confiscating your property to appease their vote bank," he further claimed and asserted that Modi will never allow budget allocation based on religion or reservation to be granted based on religion.
"Modi is the guardian of the rights of deprived,” he claimed.
Speaking about significance of this election and BJP's commitment to serving the nation, the Prime Minister said, “We (BJP-Mahayuti) draw inspiration from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This election is not just about choosing an MP, it is about choosing a PM who can take tough decisions to strengthen India."
Emphasising on inclusive nature of the BJP government's schemes, he said, “Today, Modi is providing free ration and permanent houses to poor. Every household is receiving electricity, water and Ujjwala gas connections."
"We have never discriminated based on religion, our schemes benefit everyone,” he added.
