MNS to contest Maha Assembly election on its own: Raj Thackeray

MNS to contest Maha Assembly election on its own: Raj Thackeray

Mumbai, Oct 13 (UNI) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday made it clear that his party will face upcoming state assembly election independently and not in alliance with either of two blocs.
Addressing the party workers here, he claimed that MNS will be the party in power after the election.
"Voters of Maharashtra should trust in MNS, we will show them a better Maharashtra. It is my sincere desire to create a Maharashtra that the world will be jealous of," Thackeray said and urged people of the state to give the reins of the state in his hands.
The MNS chief made this clarification because his party had extended support to the ruling Mahayuti in the Lok Sabha election, so it was predicted that MNS would go with the grand alliance in upcoming assembly election as well.
But, after he announced that his party would contest on more than 200 out of 288 assembly constituencies in the state and started announcing names of the party candidates, all eyes are on him and political observers are paying close attention to his role.
However, while clarifying his party's position in the functionaries' meeting today, Raj Thackeray announced that MNS will contest assembly election independently and not in alliance with Mahayuti or Maha Vikas Aghadi.
Talking on Maratha reservation issue, he noted that the Maratha community will not get reservation and explained that if reservation is given to one community in one state, other communities in other states in the country will also rise up in arms.
He claimed that no party can fulfil the demand for reservation.
Speaking further, Thackeray also claimed that this issue will not come up again after assembly election and indicated that when the elections will be held next time, then this issue will again be raked up, he added.
