International Olympians featuring in GMR RPL believe there is massive scope for Rugby sevens in India

Mumbai, June 23 (UNI) Rugby sevens, the faster, sharper version of traditional Rugby 15s, has exploded in popularity globally, especially since its inclusion in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
With shorter matches, high-intensity action and the fast nature of the game, it’s a format that appeals to newer audiences and newer nations.
While countries like Fiji, Kenya, and Australia have long embraced the sport, India is only just stepping into the arena with promising signs and a bright future ahead of it.

Tour de France: Tim Merlier storms to victory on Stage 9

Paris, July 14(UNI) Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step) secured his second Tour de France win in a week, denying Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) a double of his own, thanks to deft maneuvering and a serious turn of speed inside the final 200m of the stage. As sure as it was to finish in a bunch sprint in Chateauxroux, the scene of three Mark Cavendish victories, it almost didn't. Mathieu van der Poel and his Alpecin-Deceuninck team-mate Jonas Rickaert were the only two riders to leave the confines of the peloton at Kilometre 0.
