BJP’s lies have increased this poll season: Alleges Mamata

BJP’s lies have increased this poll season: Alleges Mamata

Sagar/Raidighi/Canning Paschim, May 24 (UNI) "We are seeking votes because we stand by our words. We have fulfilled the promises made by us before the 2021 Assembly election. While we keep our promises, the BJP only resorts to lies," asserted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday.
Addressing election rallies, Banerjee said, "BJP lies have increased this poll season. They have been giving false advertisements in newspapers and pumping in money illegally to buy votes."
"We are seeking votes because we stand by our words. We have fulfilled the promises made
by us before the 2021 Assembly elections – be it Lakshmir Bhandar, Krishak Bandhu, Khadya
Sathi, and Student Credit Card. Additionally, we also ensured Rupashree, Sabooj Sathi cycles,
and smartphones for students. While we keep our promises, the BJP only resorts to lies."
"In Bengal, Congress and CPI(M) are only helping the BJP. In Delhi, we are a part of the INDIA Bloc, which is coming to power and Bengal will ensure the same. Every vote is necessary, and ensuring the victory of every candidate is important," she said urged people to vote.
"They are using courts [to do their bidding] now. Why does the BJP do this? At first, they
spoke about explosives and then got the jobs of 26,000 cancelled. BJP is like the job-
eating tiger; they don’t want any development for the people," she added.
"They cancelled over 5 lakh OBC certificates but we don’t accept this order and will
move higher courts over this. Is it not a conspiracy to do this before polls?" she asked.
"BJP has planned to implement the Uniform Civil Code and mentioned this in their manifesto. If implemented, Tapshilis will lose their reservation. This is just a game for them.
Plan A for them was Sandeshkhali where they disrespected our women through a
conspiracy. Our women didn’t even know what they were made to sign. Plan B was to
spark communal riots. And Plan C was to take away the jobs and reservations of
Tapashili communities. Following summer vacation, we will move the higher courts," she iterated.
"I cannot imagine how some [judges] are saying that they would contest as BJP candidates whereas others are accepting that they were in RSS. When people don’t fight justice anywhere, they move the court. But now, people have
to ensure their own justice because some of the judges have been compromised. I don’t
disrespect the courts but criticise judgments by one or two as they are based on the
directions of BJP and CPI(M)," she alleged.
"BJP’s PM is lying every day. They are claiming to give free cooking gas, and electricity through solar power…They are promising free electricity, ration, and cooking gas saying this is his
guarantee. Do not trust these 420 guarantees. Nobody got the promised Rs 15 lakh or the
promised 2 crore jobs. If Modi comes back to power again, everybody will lose their rights," she maintained.
"We have cleared the dues for 59 lakh MGNREGA workers, who were made to wait for nearly 3 years by the BJP-led Central government for their wages. Since the Centre has stopped the scheme for Bengal, the state government has come up with the Karmashree scheme, under which job cardholders will be given 50 days of work, which can be extended up to 60 days," she stated.
"For the past few days, Modi and Amit Shah have been alleging that Muslims will take
away jobs and reservations of Tapashilis. How can this happen?" she questioned.
"Babasaheb Ambedkar ensured this in the Constitution and nobody has the power to take it away. They just want to spark unrest between Muslims and Tapashilis. This is why they have cancelled OBC Certificates," Banerjee said.
"I understand this politics and challenge Modi, Amit Shah, and BJP that we will not allow NRC,
CAA, UCC, or snatch away OBC reservations. We followed the law and will continue to do so."
"If Modi comes to power again, the country won’t remain as it is, and neither will the Constitution. He must be defeated this time. If I can defeat CPI(M)’s 34-year regime, we can remove this anti-poor BJP from the Centre as well," Banerjee asserted.
