Air India leaves behind luggage of passengers in Chennai and Bangalore

Patna, June 21 (UNI) In a bizarre situation at Patna airport, passengers of two Air India flights from Chennai and Bangalore reached here on Saturday, but the luggage of some of the passengers was left behind, sparking anger and resentment.
Two Air India flights -- IX2936 from Bengaluru and XII634 from Chennai – reached Patna airport, but the luggage of some of the passengers were left behind. Their checked luggages could not be loaded on to flights, sources said.
As the two flights arrived, passengers rushed to collect their luggage, but to their despair, some of them did not find their belongings. Visibly upset, passengers started shouting at officials and staff.
Jawans of Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) and officials of Air India pacified the passengers, saying attempts were being made to bring their luggage by another flight.
They blamed bad weather at Chennai and Bangalore and a short runway at Patna airport for the luggage mess. They also cited airline's apprehension about overload and safety concerns.
Luggage would be transported and delivered to passengers at their doorstep after bringing the same by another flight, officials told harried passengers.
