Meghalaya: CM to meet US Ambassador to India over travel advisory

Shillong, June 24 (UNI) Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Tuesday informed that he would personally take up the issue of the United States’ travel advisory that flagged Meghalaya as unsafe for travel, even as he termed the advisory as “absolutely incorrect”.
Sangma said the Level-2 travel advisory issued by the US State Department cautioning its citizens against visiting Meghalaya said, “paints an unfair picture of the state”.
“I will meet the US Ambassador to India, and through the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs, I will inform them that this kind of notification has come out, which is absolutely incorrect,” he told reporters.
