Media can only talk to elected representatives in Assembly premises: HP Speaker

Shimla, Mar 26 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania on Wednesday ruled that the media can quote only sitting MLAs in the Assembly premises during the session and not former members and non-elected individuals.
The ruling came after BJP MLA Randhir Sharma raised a point of order on former MLA Bamber Thakur addressing journalists in the assembly premises yesterday. Sharma called the development "serious".
He said a former MLA cannot address the media in the Assembly premises and media coverage of any former legislator is against the assembly rules.
