Maha: Vigilance Dept begins investigation in controversial wall worth Rs 95 lakh in Chandrapur

Chandrapur, June 24 (UNI) Following a complaint by Aam Aadmi Party about alleged misuse of the government funds by local BJP MLA Kishore Jorgewar for construction of retaining wall on a drain near his friend's bungalow here, the Vigilance and Quality Control Department of Nagpur's Soil and Water Conservation Department has initiated an investigation into the same.
Chief executive engineer of the Vigilance team, Anant Jagtap, came to Chandrapur on Tuesday and inspected the wall on the drain. The locals complained to him that the drain's capacity was reduced because of the wall, creating a flood risk.
AAP district president Mayur Raikwar has complained that MLA Jorgewar allegedly misused government funds worth Rs 95 lakh to build the protective wall on the drain near the spacious bungalow of his friend, a goldsmith and director of a liquor distribution company, on Haveli Garden Road.
