LS adjourned for the day after ruckus by Opposition

LS adjourned for the day after ruckus by Opposition

New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) The Lok Sabha on Friday was adjourned for the day, after Congress members created uproar over Nishikant Dubey’s remarks against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.

When the House re-assembled at noon, Presiding Officer Dilip Saikia informed the members that the Speaker had not allowed any adjournment motion and called for the papers to be laid on the table. After the papers were laid, the Chair said that he has received the notice of Hibi Eden and it is under consideration.

Saikia then called for the Zero Hour and asked Nishikant Dubey to put his point.

Amid uproar, the BJP member rose from his seat and said, “Congress ka haath soros ke saath”. He alleged that an overseas organisation called OCCRP had a link with the Congress and and George Soros provided funds to Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The Opposition members kept shouting in the House, forcing the Chair to adjourn proceedings for the day. The House will meet again on Monday, December 9.

Earlier, when the House met for the day at 11 am, the Opposition members got up from their seats and came towards the well raising some issues which could not be heard clearly.

On this, Speaker Om Birla asked the opposition members whether they wanted the House to function or not. Birla said he will run the House with full dignity and decorum and the opposition can raise issues under the rules.

When the opposition continued the uproar, Birla adjourned the proceedings till noon. UNI RBE SSP
