Karnataka: Congress MLA demands resignation of Housing Minister Zameer

Bengaluru, June 23 (UNI) The political storm around Karnataka’s Housing Department intensified on Monday, as Congress MLA Belur Gopalakrishna publicly demanded the resignation of Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan over allegations of corruption in housing allotments.
Referring to a leaked audio clip involving senior Congress MLA B.R. Patil, Gopalakrishna said that a minister facing such serious charges must step down until cleared of wrongdoing. “Ministers in the past have resigned when allegations surfaced. Let a fair investigation take place. If he is given a clean chit, he may return to the cabinet,” the MLA told reporters.
The audio, which surfaced last Friday, features B.R. Patil alleging deep-rooted corruption in the Housing Department. Patil later confirmed the clip’s authenticity and stood by his statements, claiming he had evidence that could shake the foundations of the Congress-led government.
