JPC attitude beyond reasonable rules: AIMPLB

New Delhi, Nov 6 (UNI) All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on Wednesday expressed concern over the constitutional violations and violations of the established rules by the Joint Parliamentary Committee dealing with Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 and the alterations of the pre-decided dates.
In a statement issued here, AIMPLB spokesperson Dr SQR Ilyas said JPC should seek suggestions/opinions only from the relevant persons or organisations who are directly involved with Waqf (the stakeholders) but unfortunately are seeking suggestions/opinions from Central Ministries, ASI, RSS supported organisations and the organizations, who have no standing in the society.
He said earlier opposition members present in the JPC wrote to the Lok Sabha Speaker complaining about the alleged objectionable behaviour of the Chairman Jagdambika Pal. On Tuesday again 6 opposition members wrote to the Lok Sabha Speaker and complained and expressed disappointment over the behaviour of the Chairman of the JPC who is not allowing fair discussion.
