Head of Japan oppn party announces temporary suspension from duty

Tokyo, Dec 4 (UNI) The head of Japan's opposition Democratic Party for the People, Yuichiro Tamaki, announced on Wednesday that he had been temporarily suspended from his post over a scandal.
"By the decision of the ethics committee, I was given a three-month suspension from my position. I wholeheartedly abide by this decision," Tamaki said on X.
His deputy Motohisa Furukawa will serve as the party leader until March 3, Tamaki added.
