Extended support to AAP in Delhi due to its strength: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Jan 15 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said that keeping in view the strength of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi assembly elections, his party has decided to support AAP.
While talking to journalists in Haridwar, Akhilesh said that the INDI alliance is intact. "When the INDI alliance was formed, it was said that the regional party which is strong in the state will be helped. All the leaders of INDI alliance should stand together with the party that fights strongly against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). AAP is strong in Delhi, so we are with it there," he said.
He said that Uttarakhand needs development, progress and employment more than UCC (Uniform Civil Code). "It is necessary to complete and take forward the discussion that took place in the Lok Sabha regarding Uttarakhand when the state was carved. Development has not yet taken place in a large part of Uttarakhand. The dream that was seen about Uttarakhand is incomplete. It is necessary to do the things that were discussed in the Parliament while creating Uttarakhand," he said.
The SP chief said that instead of development and harmony, BJP is trying to take the country's politics in another direction. "Our religion accepts everyone. It teaches tolerance. This is the most valuable thing of our religion, we have to protect it at any cost," he said.
He said that Maha Kumbh has been organised for thousands of years. "Our sages and saints whom we never get to see, we get to see them during Maha Kumbh. Their arrival enhances the beauty of Maha Kumbh. In today's time when there are so many means, resources, everything is happening live, at such a time when there are shortcomings, people raise questions. We hope that the government will pay attention to all those shortcomings and improve them because Maha Kumbh is going to go on for a long time," he said.
Akhilesh said that Maa Ganga goes from Haridwar to the last end in West Bengal. "Every place has its own importance. Every place has different importance according to the time. On Makar Sankranti, I took a bath in Ganga ji in Haridwar," he said.
