Bengaluru, Oct 13 (UNI) Former Indian cricket coach Rahul Dravid was spotted at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, reuniting with team captain Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and veteran batsman Virat Kohli.
Rohit remarked, "Having Rahul around is always a boost for us. His experience and understanding of the game are invaluable as we gear up for what promises to be a challenging series." The squad is preparing for their first Test match against New Zealand, which is scheduled to commence on 16 October.
Dravid, whose legacy continues to inspire the current players, shared moments of camaraderie and advice during the practice session, providing an uplifting presence ahead of this crucial three-match Test series. His involvement is particularly significant as it comes just before an important five-match series against Australia, where performance will be under intense scrutiny.
The first Test in Bengaluru will be followed by matches in Pune from 24 October and in Mumbai starting 1 November. This series presents a vital opportunity for the Indian team to refine their strategies and bolster their confidence ahead of facing Australia.
New Zealand's newly appointed captain, Tom Latham, is also preparing for his first full series at the helm after taking over from Tim Southee last week. The 32-year-old has led the team in nine matches previously but will now face India as a permanent captain.
