A man shot in Manipur

Imphal, May 24 (UNI) A 61-year-old man was shot in the leg by members of the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) on Friday in Wangoo, Bishenpur district, for alleged involvement in a rape case.
The injured person was rushed to the hospital for treatment. A statement by RPF Central Bureau Division Secretary said the man was allegedly involved in the rape case of a 26-year-old mentally disturbed girl earlier.
The man was also asked to pay Rs 5 lakh to the girl’s family and was ostracized for five years from his locality. The RPF is totally against mob justice, the statement further said, and it appealed to all not to take up any action in harsh terms.
