Patna, Feb 18 (UNI) RJD on Tuesday reiterated its demand for special status to Bihar.
National spokesman of RJD and Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha told media persons here that Bihar was far behind from developed states of the country on all development parameters. During the regime of Nitish-led NDA government, conditions had not improved in Bihar from the year 2000 when a separate state Jharkhand was carved out, he added.
" Special status is more needed for Bihar than 25 year ago, when it was divided for creation of a separate Jharkhand state ", Jha said adding that Bihar should have been at par with Gujarat but it could not materialise due to its limited economic resources. If the special status was given to Bihar, it would move on the fast track of development at an accelerated pace, he added.
